Our Management Team

Rich has over 35 years of operations and management experience in the defense electronics industry. Rich has served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Abaco Systems and as President of ITT Excelis Electronic Systems (now L3Harris) from 2012 – 2016 after holding positions including Director of Electronic Warfare Systems and Vice President and General Manager of ITT Electronic Systems Division. Rich began his career on the manufacturing floor while earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from New York Institute of Technology.

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Michael Armbrecht brings over 30 years of global financial and operational experience to Spectrum Control. He has spent almost 20 years in the Aerospace Defense and contracting arena. He is dedicated to driving performance through business partnerships, process improvement, organizational cohesiveness, and enhanced financial controls. Michael has lived and worked overseas and has managed manufacturing, Human Resources, and IT functions. He holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Before arriving at APITech, Michael held a variety of roles in Honeywell’s Aerospace Division, including CFO for Defense Aftermarket and CFO Honeywell Technology Solution, Inc. He has also served as CFO of Israel Aerospace Industries, North America, and as Chief Accounting Officer for Constellis, LLC.

In the CTO role, Ian will focus on Technology Development, Technology Roadmaps, New Product Innovation, and Product Differentiation. Before joining Spectrum Control, Ian held positions as VP of Advanced Technology and the Chief Scientist at Mercury Systems. He was responsible for advanced technology development with government labs and key technology partnerships. Before this role, he was the SVP & GM for Mercury’s Sensor and Mission Processing business unit. Ian has held several P&L and technology roles at Mercury since completing his doctoral work. He received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in electrical engineering. Ian has 25 years of experience designing and programming parallel computers for real-time mission and sensor processing applications. He has authored numerous papers and a book on algorithm design for parallel computer architectures.

Betsy serves as Spectrum Control’s Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing nearly 30 years of Human Resources experience to the organization. Prior to joining Spectrum Control, she led the Human Resources function at several medium to large-sized businesses within the A&D, technology, consumer electronics, and automotive manufacturing industries. Her areas of expertise include organizational and talent optimization, engagement, total rewards, and HR infrastructure.

John Muller has joined Spectrum Control as Chief Growth Officer. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and reports directly to CEO Rich Sorelle. His global responsibilities include Business Development, Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing. John will partner with the CTO to bring technology vision from the voice of customers to shape new product introductions. Before this role, John was CGO for Abaco Systems, leading the go-to-market organization including Business Development, Sales, Commercial Operations, Channels, Marketing, Product Management, and Global Customer support. John is a leader and team builder who drives growth by cultivating a culture of mission purpose based on innovation, collaboration, and ownership. John has worked for 30 years in the embedded rugged electronics industry and has expertise in Aerospace & Defense, Telecoms, Industrial, and Commercial markets.

Neil Snowdon has joined Spectrum Control as the Vice President and Managing Director of RF2M-EMEIA and SSIA. He is an Executive Leadership Team (ELT) member and reports directly to CEO Rich Sorelle. Neil is an experienced Senior Executive Leader with a strong background within the Aerospace and Electronics industry. Neil is highly competent and results-driven; focused on increasing profits and revenue. Neil’s experience and proven performance improvements by developing and motivating teams to deliver results to meet and exceed company and customer expectations.
